Episode 5: The Monkey King Protects Tang Seng
Guided by the Bodhisattva Guanyin, Wukong is willing to convert to Buddhism and waits day and night for the scripture pilgrim. Tang Seng passes by the Five Elements Mountain, lifts the seal of the Buddha, and rescues Wukong, giving him the name Sun Pilgrim. The master and disciple travel together and stay overnight in a farmhouse. In a flash of white light, Tang Seng's white horse disappears. Wukong tracks it down to the Eagle's Worry Gully and has a fierce battle with the White Dragon, but does not win. At night, three bandits come to rob the farmhouse, and Wukong kills all the bandits. Tang Seng blames him for killing, and Wukong leaves the master in a huff.
