Episode 3: The Great Sage's Heavenly Havoc
Wukong and Er Lang God display their divine powers, fighting endlessly without a clear winner. The Supreme Lord Lao Zi throws down a diamond ring from the sky, knocking Wukong down. The Jade Emperor orders the heavenly soldiers to take Wukong to the execution platform, where he is subjected to various forms of execution, including sword cuts, axe chops, and thunder and fire strikes, but remains unharmed. The immortals offer suggestions, and the Supreme Lord Lao Zi takes Wukong back to the Palace of the Golden Elixir, throwing him into the Eight Trigrams Furnace and refining him with the true fire of Samadhi. Unexpectedly, after forty-nine days, the Monkey King still jumps out of the furnace lively and energetic, having developed a pair of fiery eyes that can see through illusions. In a fit of rage, he storms the Hall of Supreme Harmony.
